Visit Bastrop Issues Branding RFP

Visit Bastrop, a brand-new, first-ever destination marketing organization for the City of Bastrop is seeking proposals for brand development.  A 501c6, Visit Bastrop is charged with marketing one of Texas’s most historic communities for overall tourism, sports, conventions, meetings and special events.

Background:

Located about 30 miles southeast of Austin, Texas on the banks of the Colorado River, Bastrop is also close (20 miles) to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.  In combination with one of the best historically preserved Main Streets, Bastrop is also home to Hyatt Lost Pines Resort and Spa, a 491-room, world-class resort and convention hotel. Please visit www.visitbastrop.com to obtain a greater perspective of the potential of this unique destination, positioned conveniently between Austin, Houston and San Antonio. Although Bastrop is a small community of about 8,000, (city population) our area attractions include the famous Circuit of the Americas (Formula 1 racing), the new NLand Surf Park (a huge competitive surfing facility), a great zip line facility, bass fishing, kayaking and outstanding outdoor recreation.  Our Lost Pines State Park has historically been one of our top attractions, along with a growing art and cultural element anchored by one of the largest copper and bronze art foundries in the nation, Deep In the Heart Art Foundry.

Quaint mom & pop shops, unique restaurants and even a distillery are located on our Main Street, along with numerous live music entertainment venues featuring local and Austin-area bands.  River activities, scenic hiking trails and sculpture art are located alongside Main Street providing an eclectic blend of activities, entertainment, cuisine and shopping experiences.
