The City of Aurora, Colorado is seeking a media monitoring and analytics solution for Aurora Water to track and report mentions with traditional and digital news media, social media and other public forums.

The City of Aurora Water Department has a growing need for a media monitoring and analytics solution to track and report mentions with traditional and digital news media, social media and other public forums. This includes local, regional, national and international media. Critical to this need is the ability to monitor these media mention real-time or near-real-time, to generate multiple reports based on multiple parameters, and analyze the reach, including additional mentions generated by initial story, as well as the spread geographically of the mentions. The ability to analyze the impact of these mentions is critical, including media market data and demographics, sentiment of the story (positive or negative) and dollar impact utilizing market advertising rates or other relevant metrics.

SERVICES REQUIRED:

1. NEWS MONITORING AND CLIPPING SERVICE FOR PRINT MEDIA

  • Daily news/media monitoring for national, regional and local news coverage – shall include monitoring of traditional print publications via LexisNexis or similar platform; regional and national trade publications; local, regional and national newspapers, magazines, etc.
  • Unlimited keywords/search terms
  • 5,000 hits/month minimum; flat rate, not pay per clip.
  • Customizable Dashboard
  • Auto with human-filtered monitoring required.

2. MONITORING SERVICE FOR ON-LINE MEDIA

  • Daily news/media monitoring for national, regional and local on-line news coverage – shall include monitoring of traditional print publications via LexisNexis or similar platform; regional and national trade publications; local, regional and national newspapers, magazines, etc.
  • Unlimited keywords/search terms
  • 5,000 hits/month minimum; flat rate, not pay per clip.
  • Customizable Dashboard
  • User defined customized email or text alerts of media mentions
  • Daily/Monthly/Quarterly Media Analysis Reports

3. MONITORING SERVICE FOR BROADCAST MEDIA

  • Daily monitoring of television and radio
  • 10,000 mentions/month minimum; flat rate, not pay per clip.
  • Unlimited keywords/search terms.
  • Customizable Dashboard
  • User defined customized email or text alerts of media mentions

4. MONITORING SERVICE FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Daily monitoring of all social media (Facebook and Twitter required) platforms and blogs.
  • Real-time monitoring of full Twitter and Facebook feeds, keyword mentions, hashtag use as well as top tier blogs and select social sites.
  • 20,000 hits/month minimum; flat rate, not pay per clip.
  • Customizable Dashboard
  • User defined customized email or text alerts of media mentions

5. MEDIA ANALYSIS REPORTS

  • User definable analytics reporting and individual measurement required for ALL media types (Print, On-line, Broadcast and Social Media); ALL news clips, articles and social media posts.
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Media Analysis Reports including News Coverage/ Articles and Media Clips garnered in National, Regional and Local News Outlets/ Websites/Print Publications – shall include Traditional Print Publications: Regional and National Trade Publications; Local, Regional and National Newspapers, Magazines, etc., including On-line Versions and Internet News Sites; ALL Social Media Platforms (Facebook and Twitter required) and Blogs; and Broadcast (Radio + TV Stations).
  • Web Links (when applicable) and PDF files of news coverage shall be provided on a timely basis and should be easily accessible.
  • Please indicate viewing, download, ordering and/or purchase options for ALL news types (i.e., PDF Viewing and Printing capabilities for news clippings; process for ordering DVD copies for individual broadcast clips).
  • Ability to provide/calculate media values for Audience Reach and Circulation; Frequency; Unique Visitors and Daily Average Visitors; Tone; Media Mix and Publicity Value; DMA Rank; PR Value (per the current Industry Standard multiplier); and Advertising Equivalency.
  • Daily/Weekly Executive Media Analysis Reports includes staff definable executive summary for city management and elected officials with links of major stories. Must have a customizable workflow process to allow approval and/or editing prior to distribution.
