BRANDING, GRAPHIC DESIGN, WEBSITE DESIGN RFP ISSUED

Purpose:

Dinwiddie County Public Schools (DCPS) is currently soliciting proposals from qualified firms and to provide professional branding, graphic design, website design and support. Dinwiddie County is located in south central Virginia approximately forty miles south of Richmond with a population of 28,971.1 Dinwiddie County covers 504 square miles. The School System is the largest employer in Dinwiddie County. DCPS provides educational services to approximately 4,450 students in preschool through grade 12 who are served in five elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one alternate learning center.
The District is in need of professional branding, a new logo, graphic designing of all communications and a re-designed website.

Background:

The mission of Dinwiddie County Public Schools is to provide each student the opportunity to become a productive citizen, engaging the entire community in the educational needs of our children.

Scope of Work:

GRAPHIC DESIGN:

It is the intent of DCPS to create a visual brand by obtaining a new business logo aimed to increase perception of Dinwiddie County Public Schools. Developed graphic(s) are to be used in all DCPS forms of communications to include:
• Division website
• Social media platforms
• Official letterhead
• Forms
• Internal communications
• External communications
• Recruitment materials (banners, flyers, etc.)

BRANDING:

The goal of DCPS is to procure a branding identity (in conjunction with the new business logo) aimed at strengthening the outreach and support within the community by building brand loyalty and increasing perception of DCPS to include:
• Developing a professional brand as an established enterprise to increase crucial first impression of the division
• Creating a marketing plan for incorporating this brand identity into all DCPS projects, marketing initiatives, and internal/external communications
• Development of brand guidelines to include (but not limited to):
o Logo use
o Fonts
o Primary color palette
o Secondary color palette
o Email template
o Letterhead
o Division website and sub-sites
o Social media platforms
o Press releases
o Recruitment

WEBSITE RE-DESIGN, HOSTING AND SUPPORT:

Our main objective for our new website is to inform, educate, and engage our students, parents, and the public. We wish to position our division as a thought leader through resource content – ALL while being compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 and Section 508 laws. The intention of DCPS is to use the new division brand identity and new logo for the main division site. Division subsites will maintain brand identity key components to convey integration between all division sites, even though school logos and colors will be used.  Our current website, www.dinwiddie.k12.va.us, is about four years old. The design does not reflect our brand the way we would like and the navigation is not intuitive. Overall, it lacks a clear path for our visitors to follow and to find what they want. In addition, if possible, to develop a web application for our main division site and school sites to further reflect our brand and disseminate information in a format that the majority of our students and parents can access.
