PadillaCRT is Rebranding and Dropping the “CRT”

Three years ago the Minnesota agency Padilla Speer Beardsley became PadillaCRT when they merged with Richmond-based CRT/tanaka, and now they change their name again, simplifying to Padilla. According to Lynn Casey, CEO of Padilla, the simplification to Padilla PR was discussed at the time they merged with CRT and a decision reached to wait for an opportune time.

Casey went on to explain, “Using other professional services firms as a guide, typically, as a company grows, the name that sticks is the first name on the door of the founders – that was the Padilla name.” Celebrating this rebranding, they’ve also created a new logo and updated the website to help build, grow, and protect what the agency does.

MSLGroup Announces Resolution to Gender Discrimination Suit of Former China CEO

The action brought against Publicis PR in January by Faith Brewitt, former Greater China CEO, claiming the agency denied her what she needed to do the job, has been resolved according to MSLGroup, a member of the Publicis Groupe network. Brewitt’s suit filed with the Shanghai Arbitration Bureau claimed Brewitt was treated unfairly as soon as she began in the CEO position in June 2016, being allowed less access to superiors and fewer resources than her male counterparts.

There are over 110 offices in the network worldwide with 35 of them in Asia, and they say that 25 of the top 33 positions in Greater China in their network are held by women. They also said, “MSL Group remains fully committed to the fair, equal, and respectful treatment of all of our employees around the world and maintaining workplace practices that are lawful, correct, and non-discriminatory.” Nevertheless, this is not the first such suit they have faced in recent years. They settled a class-action discrimination suit in 2015 brought by 100+ female employees.

Tech PR Firm and owner of PRNewswire, Cision, Going Public

Going public by merging with Capital Acquisition Corp III, Cision’s estimated value at the end of this quarter is $2.4 billion, and Capital’s new Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mark Ein, feels it’s the right time for this move since “earned media” is the way the market is going and away from paid advertising. Capital is known for developing existing private companies by merging them with publicly-traded investment vehicles, making the transition easier.

Pro Bono Partnership Formed Between MSLGroup and Healthy Women

One of our nation’s leading women’s health organizations, Healthy Women, is joining forces with Publicis Group member MSLGroup to provide American women a voice regarding the efforts to replace and repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA). MSLGroup’s DC office will work with Healthy Women on a national campaign regarding 26 women’s preventive health services to make certain they are not lost in the current legislative changes being discussed.

The campaign is called Keep the Care and will also provide advocacy tools to help the organization keep the issue in front of lawmakers and insurers. Some of the procedures include Pap smears and mammograms without needing to pay a deductible, copayment or coinsurance costs.
