WGA Signs Up with Ditto Public Relations

Western Golf Association The Western Golf Association (WGA), proud organizer of the 2012 BMW Championship, has announced  Indianapolis-based Dittoe Public Relations as its new PR agency following what it termed a “competitive selection process”.

Dittoe Public Relations is set to represent the WGA as it stages what will be the largest golfing event to take place in Indianapolis since it hosted the 1991 PGA Championship at Crooked Stick.

The BMW Championship will be the third stage out of four events in the PGA Tour, and will bring together more than 70 top international golfers to battle it out for an $8 million purse and a place in the FedExCup playoff finale.

In a press release, Vince Pellegrino, WGA’s vice-president for tournaments, announced his delight at agreeing the partnership with Dittoe Public Relations, acknowledging that the WGA would benefit immensely from the PR firm’s vast experience in dealing with national media interest:

“For an event of this prominence and magnitude, we need an experienced team of public relations professionals to assist us with generating media interest on a local, statewide and national level. We are confident in Dittoe Public Relations’ ability to deliver consistent and effective media coverage that will result in increased awareness for the 2012 BMW Championship.”
