KetchumMakovsky Hires Rob Schachter as EVP Healthcare in NY Office

Rob Schachter moves into Makovsky’s New York Office as their Executive VP and Deputy head of their Healthcare division reporting directly to Susan Goldstein, chief strategy officer and partner. Schachter has been working as the managing director at Lazar Partners since 2015, and before that, he was with Ruder Finn’s healthcare division as an EVP. With 20+ years of experience in the healthcare device and pharmaceutical specialty, he brings past efforts working with companies such as Medtronic, Roche Diabetes, Novartis, AstraZeneca, and Merck.

Gabriel Araujo Promoted by Ketchum – International Executive Creative Director

Araujo will continue with his current responsibilities as the leader of Little George, the Creative Shop in Brazil owned by Ketchum. He’ll be taking on new challenges as the international executive creative director for the agency too. This is a position created for Araujo, and he’ll work with existing clients and new business teams finding innovative ways to brand content, advertise, and product campaigns. Karen Strauss, partner and chief strategy and creative officer, will be the person he reports to in his new job.

Araujo and his Little George team received a 2017 PR Lion and Cannes Health Lion for “Amazon Warriors Safe Children,” as well as a CLIO Award in efforts for Pfizer — “Age Shamelessly” along with a PRWeek Award and from the Holmes Report, a Gold SABRE Award.

O’Dwyer’s Names 5WPR Among Top 10 Professional Services PR Agency

5W Public Relations recently moved into larger offices, and one of the reasons is because of their continued growth. This year’s new O’Dwyer’s lists of top PR agencies reflects that growth, as they have named the firm, started with just three employees in 2003 as one of the top 10 professional services PR agencies. 5WPR also moved from being No. 20 of the top independent PR agencies to now being among the top 15.

One World Trade Center Adds New Tenant – Stagwell Taking Floors 62-63

A 13-year lease was signed by Mark Penn’s Stagwell Group with NYC’s One World Trade Center (OWTC) – the western hemisphere’s tallest building with 104 stories. Stagwell will lease approximately 84K square feet from the 62nd and 63rd floors. Stagwell Group has holdings in several PR, communications, and advertising firms including SKKDKnickerbocker, Code and Theory, PMX Agency, Harris Insights & Analytics, as well as Finn Partners, and a joint ownership of Wye Communications with Finn Partners.

Mark Penn previously served as CEO of Burson-Marsteller and as a political consultant for the Clintons, and he is looking forward to expanding the group’s holdings. OWTC has leased 75% of their building currently, and some of the other tenants include leaders in tech, media, advertising, and information tech.

DKC Reports 7% First Half of 2017 Revenue Increase

DKC, a full-service PR and marketing firm, specializing in public affairs as well as other areas of practice, just had their best month ever in June 2017 from a growth and revenue perspective. And for the first half of the year, they are up by seven percent with fee revenue. They are confident in showing double-digit growth by the end of the year.  Some of the new business they have signed this year so far includes Miso Robotics, Voortman Cookies, LensCrafters, God’s Love We Deliver, and Alzheimer’s Association of New York City.
