APCO Now Aerospace PR AOR for Mubadala in Abu Dhabi

Picking up the aerospace PR work along with representing six sub-brands as communications advisor, APCO moved into the role while Edelman moved out. Those sub-brands include Sanad an aviation financing firm as well as Strata, a composite manufacturer. Edelman will continue to work with the conglomerate on their corporate account including both real estate and digital efforts. Beyond that, Edelman will be putting in lots of time working with the company’s planned city project in Masdar (formerly done by APCO). It didn’t hurt that Edelman’s Middle East office has recently gone through changes that included letting 20 of their executives go.

Fleishman-Hillard Repping Build-A-Bear Workshop For 20th Birthday

Build-A-Bear Workshop is celebrating 20 years in business and is planning a full year of festivities. To help them, they’ve hired Fleishman-Hillard to do the media relations, event support, and influencer engagement in the US, UK, and Canada. In 20 years the workshops have helped their customers build 150+ million bears (and friends). Their people also love working at the company as proved by their place among the 100 best companies to work for spanning the last nine years.

Kwittken Helping With ALS Association Campaign

The ALS hit pay dirt a couple of years ago with the help of both Porter Novelli and Red Delux (ad agency) with the Ice Bucket Challenge. But for August, Kwittken will be working with the non-profit as they run their month-long campaign known as Every Drop Adds Up with storytelling and photos to document people who live with ALS both as those with the disease and those who love them. The Ice Bucket Challenge was one of the most successful non-profit campaign raising $115 million in just two months during 2014. Celebrities of all kinds participated right beside thousands of unknown people – except to their friends who had either challenged them or were challenged by them to dump a bucket full of ice water over their heads and to donate to the charity.

Eastport Holdings Negotiating to Acquire Fahlgren Mortine

Private equity-backed Eastport Holdings has been acquiring and consolidating advertising agency recently. Last year they acquired BFG Communications from South Carolina, Atlanta, and New York. They’ve also picked up MARC USA and Ten35. Now they are in pursuit of Fahlgren Mortine based in Columbus, Ohio that represents clients for PR and marketing. Some of their clients include Nevada Tourism and McDonald’s.
