Violet PR Announces New Account Manager, Senior Account Executive

Christina Grothues and Tom Ranzweiler promoted to key positions at expanding NJ-based communications firm

Montclair, NJ – May 8, 2018 – Today, New Jersey-based public relations firm, Violet PR, announced the promotion of Christina Grothues to Account Manager and Tom Ranzweiler to Senior Account Executive. A boutique PR firm, Violet PR represents a diverse set of clients including economic development organizations, engineering and architecture firms, performing arts venues, philanthropic organizations, site selection consultants and real estate developers.

“Christina and Tom have significantly grown their skill sets and taken on additional management responsibilities during their multi-year tenures at Violet PR,” says April Mason, president and owner of Violet PR, based in Montclair, NJ. “With expertise packaging compelling stories for online, broadcast, print and social media, I’m thrilled to say we have one of the most dynamic, effective PR teams anywhere.”

Since joining Violet PR in 2014, Grothues has helped the firm grow by spearheading social media campaigns, media tours and special events for clients including the Kansas City Area Development Council, Pittsburgh International Airport, McLaren Engineering Group, Savannah Economic Development Authority, Idaho Commerce and Biggins Lacy Shapiro. She has helped train clients on social media channels and identified new ways to use social media to help clients increase their brand exposure.

“At Violet PR, I’ve been able to develop and implement innovative social media campaigns using LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and SnapChat, including an aggressive program for IBM’s P-TECH Network,” said Grothues. “We successfully built the P-TECH Network’s Twitter following to over 1,000 new users in the first month and increased overall engagement by 500%.”

Ranzweiler joined Violet PR in 2016 and has managed successful media relations campaigns for clients including Patch, the Wellmont Theater, Lincoln Equities Group, RSC Architects, McPherson Strategies and the Township of Millburn. He has generated media coverage in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNN, Good Morning America, NPR, Politico and Fast Company, as well as regular features in NJ Biz, NorthJersey.com and NJ.com. He honed his media relations skills as a news producer for programs including MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

“One of our most exciting clients is the campaign to raise the Wellmont Theater’s profile as one of New Jersey’s top live entertainment venues,” says Ranzweiler. “Last year, I placed more than 300 news stories in online, broadcast and print outlets to promote performances at Montclair’s iconic theater.”
