A Nielsen study found that in May 2012 there were 163 million unique U.S. video viewers who streamed over 26 billion videos. HTTP live streaming is a standard for both on-demand and live video streaming to mobile devices, providing a very scalable way to stream video to various screens and connected devices that don’t support Flash.
Jivox announced interactive ad insertion for HTTP live streaming (HLS) for mobile sites and apps at the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s (IAB) Marketplace – Mobile event. The new Jivox platform enables publishers and advertisers to insert interactive video ads into live television streams delivered to mobile devices. The Jivox technology allows advertisers to monetize programming across the TV and other screens, including smartphones and tablets.
“Viewers are increasingly accessing broadcast content from multiple devices and this requires a seamless approach to advertising. With our platform advertisers are guaranteed that their interactive video ad can be seen by their targeted audience no matter what screen they are watching. This extends the reach and engagement of their TV ad buy,” explained Diaz Nesamoney, CEO of Jivox.
A winner of the IAB Mobile Rising Stars Awards for innovation in cross-platform interactive video ads, Jivox will also have a speaking engagement at the IAB Marketplace Mobile event on July 16th in New York.
