Zocalo Group Formed & Rubenstein PR, MWW Account Wins & Staff Moves

PR moves and changes

The public relations industry constantly features new shifts and innovations. Companies make moves and shake their businesses up – here’s a few of this weeks’ happenings:

Omnicom

Omnicom Moving Zocalo to Critical Mass

According to this report, rumblings in the grapevine speculate that media group Omnicom plans to shift the lucrative media relations firm Zocalo Group into digital design shop Critical Mass.  This move will make Critical Mass more of an all inclusive “full service” company, and Ketchum a standalone company with an established successful practice called Ketchum Digital.

Omicom made a savvy business move with this decision, as it most likely moves some of Zocalo’s leaders into executive positions at Critical Mass.

Richard Rubenstein, President of Rubenstein Public Relations (RPR), announced that Gerry Casanova joined the company as Senior Vice President, Client Services Director. Casanova gained experience as an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, specializing in client service and media relations.

“This is an exciting time for the agency as we continue to expand our practice areas and leadership bench. Gerry is a talented, respected and accomplished public relations professional who provides outstanding client management, strategic counsel and team building skills. The agency is committed to delivering impeccable service and exceptional media results for all our clients. We will continue to add talented industry professionals like Gerry who bring exceptional value to our clients and staff development,” said Richard Rubenstein.

Maybe Rubenstein PR read our profile of them – but we still don’t think they are a good firm.
