MoneyGram Kicks off ‘Bringing You Closer’ Holiday-themed Campaign

During the holidays many people all over the world transfer money to their loved ones. It is only natural for companies in this field to launch campaigns to attract them to use their services. MoneyGram just launched an integrated global holiday campaign called “Bringing You Closer” aiming to build trust among customers and to draw preference for this service during this time of the year.

“We are committed to bringing customers closer throughout the year, and the holidays are an especially important time when the gift of money takes on a cultural significance for our global audience,” explained Juan Agualimpia, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of MoneyGram. “This campaign represents a comprehensive effort to generate consumer awareness and reinforce our brand positioning through a variety of marketing assets and channels that foster consumer preference during the season.”

“Bringing You Closer” will use a combination of television, print, and radio spots, point-of-sale marketing, grassroots public relations, and interactive online components to disseminate the campaign’s messages. The ads on television, print, and radio will have Christmas scenes which will show how MoneyGram helps to bring people together during holidays. The campaign also includes two contests on Facebook. The first one https://www.facebook.com/moneygram?fref=ts  invites people to select countries and share memories and will reward two winners with a round-trip airfare voucher to bring them closer to friends and family. The second one https://www.facebook.com/pages/Moneygrado/286624824774892?ref=ts&fref=ts addresses people in the Philippines, inviting workers to submit videos showing what it means to them to spend holidays with their loved ones and has one big prize rewarding someone with a round-trip flight to the Philippines. Speaking of Facebook, the campaign also includes a Holiday Card promotion which helps people send a photo or video greeting card to friends and family.

The campaign also encourages customers to sing their favorite holiday songs. The best moments will be included in a video that will be uploaded on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOUCGepY4g0

“As many of our customers look to connect with their friends and family around the holidays, MoneyGram services continue to bring people closer together,” said Agualimpia. “MoneyGram is dedicated to serving the needs of consumers so families around the world can enjoy this cherished time of year.”

Germany: On the Move [by Richard Edelman]

I have just spent a week in Germany, a day in Berlin then five days in Hamburg. I attended the opening of the Berggruen Museum, a spectacular collection of Picassos and Braques in Berlin. This was followed by the Edelman Leadership Meeting in Hamburg. In the course of the week, I met former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, Fresenius (client) CEO Mark Schneider, ARD anchorman Ingo Zamperoni, Dr. Klaus Schüler, the National Secretary of the Christian Democrats and Philipp Missfelder, Christian Democratic Union Defense spokesperson.

The One Social Element Any Influencer Needs – A HIT Story

Did you ever wonder just why you “friended” or “followed” that profile in social media? I mean, did you really ever fully realize the ways in which influence is leveraged? I’m not talking about Klout scores, nobody every heralded to me or anyone I know their 72 Klout score etc. (my own dropped to 61 of late). What I am talking about is real influence. Interested?
