Women’s World Banking, the global non-profit devoted to giving more low-income women access to the financial tools and resources essential to their security and prosperity is seeking an event planner agency to provide strategic guidance during the planning of their international summit to be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in October 2017.

For more than 35 years the institution has worked with financial institutions to show them the benefit of investing in women as clients, and as leaders.  They equip these institutions to meet women’s needs through authoritative market research, leadership training, sustainable financial products and consumer education. Headquartered in New York, Women’s World Banking works with 40 institutions in 29 countries with a reach of 16 million women to create access to finance on a greater scale than ever before.

About the Project

They seek an event planner who can provide strategic guidance in developing a unique and engaging show-look while also advising and designing session structures that will maximize audience engagement and long-term impact.

As part of their mission of demonstrating the powerful business case for investing in women, Women’s World Banking hosts a biennial international summit. The next event will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in October 2017 with an estimated 300 people in attendance. Sessions at the Summit may include plenaries, breakout panels, workshops, roundtable discussions, ‘TED-style talks’, and keynote addresses. The consultant will be responsible for determining the best mix of these sessions to meet the Summit’s objectives.

The summit will convene representatives from Women’s World Banking’s 40 network member financial institutions from 29 countries. The summit target audience includes financial institutions, investors, donors, bi- and multi-lateral organizations, fintech, and other private sector organizations from around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Developing unique session structures that will drive engagement with audience members;
  • Developing an impact plan which will outline ways that the content communicated will have a long-term impact on participants; and
  • Other support and special projects as related to the overall project, as needed.

Specific Deliverables

  • Developed structure of agenda sessions that are interactive and ensure long-term impact;
  • Measurements of success of overall event as well as individual sessions; and
  • Recommendations to ensure long term impact of event and how to implement attendees’ knowledge sharing after the event
