Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy spread as Marilyn Monroe allegedly leaked on the web. As usual, the culprit seems to be a “hacker” who magically got a hold of unpublished pictures stored on Playboy’s unsecured servers. Others believe that the hacker was so skilled of an artist, that he “pieced it together” after downloading hundreds of files from the aforementioned servers. Strange that Playboy never learns – they had so many other “leaks” in the past. This is getting old really fast.
Believe what you will – the move is nothing but a PR stunt to boost interest for the new issue of Playboy featuring Lohan as her icon, Marilyn. The pictorial recreates the Marilyn Monroe nudes by Tom Kelley that launched Playboy and her career.
It should strike anyone odd that after losing the role as Marilyn to Michelle Williams for My Week With Marilyn, Lohan decided to go for a Playboy spread – the last resort for many stars who fall out of Hollywood’s graces.
But the “leaked pictorial” strategy worked – it got the media attention, a lot of interest on social media as well, and became the top trend on the web:
Lindsay Lohan was the top search name on the Internet yesterday. Her issue goes on sale late next week. Hot. Hot. Hot.
So Hugh Hefner decided to post the pictorial online ahead of the official release of the magazine at the end of the week. The pictorial is now available online at Playboy, – naturally, for a fee.
Many fans have accessed the “legally published” spread, and reported enthusiastically that “Wow the pictorial is amazing and @lindsaylohan looks incredible!” Indeed, what a talented photographer, and great invention… Photoshop.
