Introduction

Hunter Public Relations builds consumer brands and marketing equity in the products of the clientele it services. Founded in 1989 by Barbara Hunter as an agency specializing in food and nutrition, it is one of the most well-respected mid-size marketing communications firms in the United States. Hunter, a pioneering business leader and the first woman in the United States to run a public relations agency, successfully led two multi-national agencies from 1960-1988, then created Hunter Public Relations, branding it as a "boutique" agency dedicated to helping consumer brands use strategic public relations methods to achieve sales and marketing goals. Hunter retired in 2000, leaving the firm in the hands of a small group of long-term employees. Many of Hunter's clients have won recognition and national merits and awards for outstanding marketing and communications platforms, all spearheaded Hunter PR.
